With this Sustainable Livelihoods Project, we aim to help the Bafut community increase their income from ginger production. The goal is a 20% increase in income after one year.
Youth and the Future has partnered with GIZ for the training. Young people and women from the Nchum community receive support to grow, store, and market their ginger products. They have learned to properly wash, slice, dry, grind, and package their ginger products to increase the market value of their crop. Raw ginger from Nchum farms is to be turned into tea, powder, oil, and export-ready packs. The processed products can travel further and reach a wider market across Cameroon.
