SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF SOLAR ENERGY & CAMERA INSTALLATION TRAINING IN BAMENDA – AUGUST 2025

Youths and the Future (YF) Empowers Youths to Become Job Creators

Solar Energy and Security Camera Installation Training Program, held in Bamenda, Northwest Region.

After weeks of intensive practical and theoretical sessions throughout the month of August, youths and community members received their Attestation Documents in a joyful ceremony that marked the start of their journey as skilled technicians and entrepreneurs.

Training Held to Lighting Up Communities, Securing the Future

Organized in August 2026 the program was designed to address critical challenges among youths in the north west Region of cameroon and beyond.Energy insecurity and youth unemployment.

Trainees were equipped with hands-on skills in:

  • Installation and maintenance of solar panels, batteries, inverters, solar-powered irrigation and cold storage systems
  • Installation and configuration of CCTV and security camera systems for homes, businesses, farms and community infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting, repair and after-sales service essential for building sustainable businesses

These skills are directly linked to our upcoming flagship initiative the bafut royal Ecovillage Bafut: A Permaculture Training and Storage Centre to be powered by Solar Energy .

August Graduation: From Job Seekers to Job Creators

“This August graduation is not the end, but the beginning. We look forward to continuing to empower our communities and youths to be job creators and not limiting themselves as job seekers,” said Princess Prudence Abumbi Sirri Ngwemuta’a, President of YF.

Among the August laureates were young women, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and youth from farming communities groups most affected by the crisis but most determined to rebuild.

Our Commitment Beyond August

YF will continue to support the August graduates through:

  1. Business Mentorship Helping them launch their own solar and security installation micro-enterprises.
  2. Field Deployment Integrating the best technicians into the Ecovillage Bafut project
  3. Expansion Planning the next cohorts in Bafut and beyond, aiming for new beneficiaries women, youths, IDPs).

We thank our dedicated trainers, volunteers, the administration of Bamenda, the Fon of Bafut, and all partners who made this training a success.
